Introduction to Oil Painting with Michele Zarb
Thursday October 14th - November 11th, 6-8pm, $195
This workshop is designed as a basic introduction to oil painting, as well as a refresher course for anyone desiring to try oil painting or sharpen their skills. Oil painting has many wonderful qualities that are not available in other mediums. We will explore many aspects of oils, and students will have a lot of “hands-on” work, with individual attention from the instructor. Some topics that will be covered are:
· Safe handling of materials
· Color mixing and application
· Basic materials needed for oil painting
· Discussion of different solvents, mediums, and varnishes.
· Completing a painting step-by step
This course will be conducted in a fun, eco-friendly environment. My goal is for each student to be more informed and comfortable with oil painting. The oil paints will be supplied to those students who wish at a nominal fee, so they can feel free to experiment without spending too much money to get started.
Cancellation Policy: In order to protect our talented instructors and their valuable time, we have the following policy in place for Rockwater Art Center workshop registrations. Tuition must be paid in full to reserve a space in any workshop. Cancellation of registration up to 30 days before the start date will result in a tuition refund less a $50 handling fee, unless otherwise noted in the workshop description. In the event a workshop is cancelled, students will recive a full refund less any non-refundable credit card or paypal fees. Registrations with a Credit Card or Paypal account are charged a $10.00 non-refundable registration fee for this workshop.
