5 Thursdays March 29th- April 26th, 10am-1pm. 10:00am-1:00pm each week $175 + $15 material fee (payable to instructor) 8 students maximum (0 taken, 8 left) Beginning Collage: In a supportive, fun environment, your creative spark will be kindled through demonstrations of exciting and beautiful materials! Knowledge of materials empowers the artist and opens avenues for expression. The teacher will provide students with found treasures to incorporate into your art. You may work on your own concepts or those offered by Tess. Material fee $15 (payable to instructor) This term we will construct and embellish a shrine to house the items or theme you hold precious. You might dedicate your piece to nature, a loved one living or dead, or something that speaks to your artist heart. The Human Face of Grosz and Hausman will inspire students to create their own “Dehumanized Man” or “Robot” or a face of your choosing incorporating social commentary if desired. Art in a Bottle We will at look at Magritte and contemporary artist Mary Daniel Hobson for inspiration.. Students will learn to make a transparency to attach on glass and design the interior of their pieces. Student Material List: The teacher will supply all the fun art materials!
