 Verksted Gallery, Poulsbo, WA
The Verksted Gallery in Poulsbo is celebrating 25 years in business. The two original founding artists, Mary Heffner and Elizabeth Haney, will be on hand along with Poulsbo’s Mayor, Miss Viking, and a host of artists demonstrating their work throughout the day.
At the Birthday celebration on April 14, there are several demonstrations you can’t miss. You’ll find Andy Buck knee-deep in clay (turning pots) and Norm Hix in his full body armor (turning wood) – they are a sight to behold, and a definite crowd pleaser. Also on board will be Dinah Satterwhite hand tinting her beautiful scenic black and white photographs, and Karen Lyman stuffing exquisite hand-made bears.
Live music begins shortly after the doors open at 10am with The Castaway’s Band. More live music is scheduled during the day, including a Sweet Adeline’s women’s a cappella choir.
There will be cake and apple cider for free all day long. The day’s festivities conclude with the popular Poulsbo Art Walk from 5pm until 8pm. The Verksted Gallery will be serving wine, more cake, and featuring live music. There will be a lot of activity on Front Street, with galleries and shops and restaurants open late for the Poulsbo Artwalk from 5-8pm

Front Street Gallery is hosting a preview of artist decorated bras for the upcoming Bras for a Cause fundraiser. Come join us for a night of mingling and fun on Thursday April 12 from 5-8 pm. Drawings for featured local artwork will be held and many of the artists will be on hand. Front Street Gallery is proud to announce West Sound Academy senior Zoe Weintraub is the winner of the 2012 Slug Hunt and Auction Scholarship. Zoe plans to use the $1500 dollars toward her studies at Cordon Bleu Pattisserie program in Portland Oregon. Her artwork will be on display throughout April as featured artist at the gallery. Opening reception is Saturday April 14 from 5-8 pm as part of the Poulsbo Second Saturday Artwalk.
